I'm looking at a non working but complete Wurlitzer 1700 . Just wanted to see what you jukebox guys know about this model and it theres anything I should watch out for . I general mess with the seeburgs . Thanks

If the plastics and glass are good, cabinet trim intact, I'd go for it. i like the 1700 style, and the vertical record mech makes you want to look for colored vinyl.
No, it's not my juke, but many people aren't familiar with Wurlitzers, let alone the 1700

Non working because it may need tubes and recapping or non working since oh.. the amp is gone? I'd try to keep it in the 600-700 range, a comparable Seeburg would get more, but as you know collectors seem to prefer the Seeburgs. I love veneer work on a Wurlitzer, straight lines, flat surfaces, makes it an afternoon job as opposed to sweating over the curves of a Seeburg C or G. http://oakwoodveneer.com/ is my go to place for the veneer. A bigger selection than the Lowe's or Home depot will have. |

Do you know if it's a 1700 or a 1700HF...?
My first box was a very nice 1700HF (high fidelity) and wish I had not sold it as it sounded very nice and played flawlessly for years. I even went as far to get a stepper and wallbox...
Just make sure it's not missing any components, and as kilroy states, keep the price below $800 since the cabinet needs to be re-veneered...

I'm a little bias towards the 1700 as I had one so, I might go a little higher if everything is there and in decent shape... Not something that came from So. America; these boxes may be complete but are in terrible condition! |

Still working out a deal on this . The guy counter offered . He says everything is there and nothing broken but when it trys to play it just clicks and does nothing ? Probably gummed up .

Zadd, I also have a machine that I bought a couple years back and have not done anything with it. Its a Wurlitzer 1400. Has been painted over the veneer so that would need to be redone and it plays 78s. I can send some pics if you have any interest. I also know a guy selling a Wurly 780. Not everyones cup of tea, but a pretty rare machine. I can get some info and pricing if anyone is interested. He is getting out of jukes, sorry John but he had THREE 1100s and sold them all to the same person.  |

My 1428 also plays 48s but I've had it for 20 years. Wouldn't sell it for anything, well maybe if a 1015 popped up. Good luck in your hunt for a 1700.

I have a NSM that was given to me a few years ago from my father in law it has alot of 45,s but doesn't work lights up but doesn't do anything' it was working at his house then died' he was just going to throw it out but i saved it to fix at a later date but other things have prevented me from it and where are those the people that work on them?
