Location of free play switch

Where clever spots are you folks mounting your free play switches?  Are these usually mounted somewhere inside the coin door so you have to open it up to use the switch?

BTW, What is the recommended wire gauge to use?

I bought a small momentary on swith from radio shack. I drilled a small hole in the coin return so the the swith was sticking through into the hole, so I could just stick my finger into the coin return amd push the button. The hole was small so if anyone ever needed to remove the switch no one would ever pay any attention to it. As far as guage is concerned I used 16 guage wire from radio shack and that was probably overkill. There is only a load on the wire for the short time that the button is pressed in so you don't have to go too big. I hope this helps.

I found a clever spot for free play switch was to mount it under the coin return lever.  This way I didn't have to drill any holes in the cabinet.  To activate switch simply push the coin return lever.

Bob, here is a picture of free play switch mounted inside of door.  I did have to drill and tap two small holes but they are in an inconspicuous area, and should cause no problems if I decide to re-install the coin changer.

Nice job!  I haven't come across any switches like that with the lever and spring.  I've only seen pushbutton types.

I used a junk coinco changer I had laying around.  I mounted the switch on top of the changer right where the coin return lever is.  I ran the wires into the changer and hooked them into the changer jones plug.  This way when you open the coin door everything looks nice and stock.  I hated the wires stuck into the jones plug socket.
