Here's a Vendo 81B just finished. I think the Coke policeman looks good standing next to the machine.

The policeman looks a lot taller than the machine in this photo...is he really, or does it just look that way?

I was "junking over the weekend and came across a Policeman like that one in the picture. The guy wanted $2200 for it. Is that even close to the going rate?

Depends on if it was original and the condtion. One that is in original condition and is a 9 or better with original base can bring 2,500 and on up.

Yes, but like all signs, they have suffered on value, but condition is everything.. there is a guy at Chicago the last few shows who has one for 3200 it's a pretty nice originall, but high I think,
however 8 or so years ago, i new of one that sold in the Gary Metz Auction for $7200 it was new old stock in original box...

The backs are blank on the repos. Also the originals are usually dated at the bottom right corner.

Yes as stated, Backs are blank and don't have the reflective paint on them.. also originals are dated and repops are not..
side by side, its' easy to see, but if stand alone, it can be hard unless you konw what to look for...
