Coinco CT48 Refrigerant Pressures - High?
«

I recently acquired a Coinco CT48 drink machine. It currently short cycles the compressor (fans stay running) so I suspect it is low on refrigerant tripping the compressor overload/temp switch. From the ID tag on the machine:
Refrigerant: R-12 6.2 oz
Comp. Capacity: 360 BTU/HR
Low Side: 140 psi
High Side: 235 psi
I am familiar with car A/C systems, but not appliances and these pressures seem very high to me – do the pressures seem correct?
Thanks - I'm sure I'll have more questions as I go along.

Where you located? I have a CT 48 that you can have if you can pick it up. The compressor is working, one of the selections is broken but you would be able to put your rack into it.
It is located in Aiken South Carolina
d.swanson has first dibs but if he passes it's free to anyone else here - but it must be picked up.

That would be excellent...I'm in central North Carolina 27540 - around 5 hours away...you don't live on the north side do you (way way north)?
Does it damage these to travel with them laying down flat on their back - or do they need to be transported standing up?
Laying flat I could transport in my MINI Clubman - standing up I would need to borrow a truck.

Flat on it's back for transport is fine so long as you stand them upright overnight before plugging them back in.

Aiken is 2 1/2 hours south west from Charlotte 13 miles from Augusta Georgia. If you want it let me know and I will plug it in to make sure it still works. It has been sitting for 1 1/2 years.
