Main light in a Cavalier CS-80C

Hi all!
I'm new, and recently bought a Cavalier CS-80C.
It was sitting at the end of a driveway for $75.00. I hit the braks pretty quick...LOL
Looks like it was redone to resemble a later model.
Anyway, it's completey intact, however, I want tp bring it back to it's a60's look....
and I cannot for the life of me, get the main light out to change it and access the
ballast and starter! I opened the coin door, took out the two screws on the underside,
but it is not budging.  Any ideas how to get the thing out???

I have another question I'll post in refrigeration later...compressor is hot...consistantly.
the cardboard shroud is there, the compressor and fan cycle on / off together...the inside
cools beautifully, the tstat works when turning the dial to warmer / colder to start stop the
compressor and fan.

Things I've done so far...replaced tstat, new wire harness, new combination overload 3 in 1
just got it all from funtronics and installed...

Welcome aboard Jazzygirl!

You will find the answers to all of your SMC questions here.  I have a Cavalier USS 64 which is similar to your machine and I had the same problem with the door light.  The door light in your machine should be similar.  Here is a thread with some tips that worked for me:

If you're referring to the marquee light, then you're on the right track.  It is held in by two pins at the top, and needs to come out bottom first, but sometimes the gasket can get stuck on the bottom.  The best method would be to use a thin plastic too to pry it out (to prevent scratching) but using a flathead screwdriver to pry it out will work too.

LOL...ok, new question same topic...ha ha..

my cav cs 80 c marquee light.... Where can I find a new one? The fixture is fine, just need to replace the sign. Or, is there someone out there who makes the replica's?

So you wish to get rid of "The Wave" logo/marquee & go back to the old school red lettered Coca~Cola on the white background?

Yeah, I'd like to change it out to the retro sign. Red lettering "Drink Coca Cola" with the seafoam green "Enjoy that refreshing feeling".

I do like the current sign, However, I'm an old school nostalgia freak...LOL!

I've seen the sign on the Funtronics site, howver none of the dimensions are the same as mine. The CS64-C is the closest, but still at least a 1/2" off on the height

The plexi sign I have measures 13 5/16" x 8" x 1/8"......

Take into account that you Coke "wave" sign may have been cut down from a larger machine to fit...but basically measure the inside width x height of the frame & also remember that the aluminum trim will hide about 1/4" of fudge-factor if it's ( the replacement sign ) is a tad smaller...a clue that it (the current marquee) was cut from a larger sign would be the lack ( missing) of the gray-gasket that keeps it snug in the frame,,  I've also had success in adapting slightly smaller marquee signs by getting some L-shaped aluminum channel from Home depot & cutting it to fit to take up the slack.

My sign has the gray gasket on it. Inside of the aluminum frame is 13 1/2" x 8 1/4".

I'll have to see what I can get to work.
