I was looking for a way to create a Burl wood effect on my Bally High Hand Poker machine because I was going to repaint it. It had what I thought was real wood on the top and on the face. I thought that wood section was masked off before Bally painted the rest of the machine. Anyway, there was a Life Savor on top of the wood and I decided, that since it was wood, a regular cleaner would clean off the candy. The candy came off and so did some paint. So I have this white spot on top now. The point of the story is that I never found any technique that created this pattern. Who knows, maybe it's a decal, but I did find this lady who had a very nice Faux (fake) Burl wood pattern, which is real similar to Curtis's painter. I thought I'd post this video because a lot of people seem to like Curtis's paint job, myself included. This lady sells a video on how to make that effect. She just shows the final touches here, but you will get the jist of it.
