THat is a pretty cool concept, much better than the Selectivend bottle stack version which really alters the look of the machine, this one looks less invasive and practical. what a great way to have a classic 39 , but with multi selection and 12 oz bottle drum as well!

Nice one kilroy..... So I assume this was NOT done by the Vendo company, but rather an aftermarket back in the day? What do the ID tags on these machines say? 39B? Thanks to all thus far for all this info... it's only 5:00pm on a friday, and I already learned something

i don't believe Vendo did the refits, much like Seeburg didn't do the refits on the 50's jukeboxes. For operators, it allowed a machine to be kept in service longer, so less income had to go to newer machines. The v39 was my first machine, so I'm slightly, heck i am very biased about them.

This is the first time I've seen this type of 39.
Is it true that a conversion kit was sold for Vendo 39s that turned them into multi-vend shelf machines with a door on the right?

I don't think that is a v39B unless the "ice cold is a decal."

I thought it was a selectivend. They made all of the other glass door conversions for many other machines including the V39, V83, V144 and 144SA and the single drink selectivend machines. This allowed the machines to be used later in life when the jumbo bottles were popular and allowed them to vend multiple flavors. This 39 conversion is really cool!
