i needed to repair the fan motor and when i starting looking at the compressor area, i notice what appeared to be corrosion  that you would normally see caused by a chemical or corrosive liquid.  Is there anything in the compressor that can cause this?  Also, is there an easy way to take the fan off without removing the entire frig unit?  Vendo 63.  i can try to send pics but don't think i would have enough light to highlight the issue.

Its easier to replace the fan by taking the unit loose and pulling mostly out. I immagine you could do it without taking it out but it would be cramped and pretty tough.
