Here's a couple of shots of the Eagle Distillery Pepsi "Eagle dry chest I finally got this weekend. Been looking for one for years. The entire machine, lids and all, is porcelain. Very rare, 5+ in Jeff's book. Jeff and I found one over twenty five years ago in S. Cal. and I haven't seen one since. The majority of these made, and there were very few, had traditional sliding metal doors as shown on the unit in Jeff's book page146. This unit top has the extra rare vending top. As you can see in the photos unit is equipped for a vending top to allow the merchant to chose to self-serve or be coin operated using the same machine. If anyone has any additional information are pic I would appreciate it.

Jeff had several editions, the book I was going in it was 146. I remember it was also listed in one of his books as "unknown" for the brand.

Yep, there were two editions to Jeffs book. The original in 1992with a Vendo 44 in the upper right corner of the cover and a second edition in 1995 with a Dad's Idea 55 in the upper corner. In the 2nd edition many new machines were added, description refined and prices were adjusted from the first book. In addition there was a leather hard bound collectors edition of the the 1992 book with 100 numbered and printed. Here's a shot of mine #52. Thanks

I have the third edition from 1999. Mine has a RC 81 in the upper right hand corner. I'm ready for the 4th edition. Is he going to do another?
