I am looking for this Thermal Overload (see first picture). It is stamped MRT16CV -3 and there is a K3A between the terminals. Removed from a Westinghouse W-102-F compressor assembly, which is in my WB-60 Select-O-Matic machine.
I do have an extra overload, but it is not the same exact model and doesn't look as heavy duty (see second picture - the one with a black wire). The black housing on it is the same size as the original T.O. It is marked MRA2918 with a B9V between the terminals.
If anyone has one, please let me know. Thanks!

These over current protectors were matched to the H.P. (horse-power) of the compressor, so basically if you know what size your compressor is, you can use on from another unit of the same rating, but don't go over the size used on your original compressor, IE: don't use a 1/2H.P. unit on a 1/4HP compressor. & vise/versa

That was what I was thinking Johnnie - I have no idea where my spare TO came from, but it doesn't appear to have the same components. You wouldn't happen to have a spare? This is for a WB-60 - I can find no reference as to the size of the compressor on either the compressor ID plate or the machine's ID plate. Thanks!

Tom,
I will also check, since I put a 3-n-1 on my 102. If I still have the Klixon, it's yours. I will check tonight after work.

Darn when I moved I threw away several of them. I almost always replace with a 3-in-1 since that is the most common problem I find in the cooling systems other than tstat which I generally replace as well.

All I can say is look-see if the numbers on the T.O. match up. I cannot find any reference to the WB-60 compressor motor's size anywhere. Thanks!

Tom,
The one I have is labeled MRP36GL with either a -3A or -34 below it. Between the terminals, it says M4V. Also, I cannot be sure if this came off my 102. It may have come off the 110 I just finished. However, if this works, it's yours.

Klixon Thermal Overload? Is that similar to the Leopluradon? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CsGYh8AacgYWe saw this one thanks to Johnie the first time around. I thought it was a good time to bring it back! Tim Shun the non-believer!

Well thanks everyone! I decided it couldn't hurt to try and fix the one I had. What was going on is the machine would fire up and cool down great; however, the problem was when it would cycle. The T-stat would cut out, but the machine wouldn't cycle back on again.
When I took the Thermal Overload out, I noticed it was chipped on the inside edge and part of the rim was missing. I must have bent the retaining wings down too much when I installed it because I don't recall it being damaged.
So I took some JB Weld and dabbed a bit of it where the chip was. As it firmed up, I could use my fingers to form the rim shape. After it hardened, I was able to file it flush. Reinstalled it and it works perfect now.
If anyone does have a T.O. like mine that they want to get rid of, I am still interested in one...LMK...Thanks!
