Just picked up a Cav 64FS today, after a 2 1/12 hour round trip, get back and plug it in. Runs for about 5 minutes and shuts off, will cycle back on in about 10 minutes and do the same, run for 5 minutes and shut off. Was advertised as runs great, etc.  Before I start trouble shooting this tomorrow, any guidance?  Thanks for the help.

How did you transport the machine? Upright or on it's back?
If you laid it on it's back, rule of thumb is to let it stand upright 24 hours before putting any juice to it.
I usually give the wiring a once over before using any machine that is 50 years old.

We transported it styanding up but did half to lay it down to get it off of one of the trucks and into the back of my truck. Hopefully it will fire up tomorrow morning and run longer.

When the machine "cycles off" is the lower fan shutting off too? If so, it sounds like a bad thermostat.
If just the compressor is shutting down on the overload and the fan continues to run, try as Tom mentioned,
let it stand overnight...

As Tom said check the wiring I would also check the thermostat

I might have lucked up, we took the cover off the fan inside the box, it was not spinning and was locked up. Took it off and cleaned it up, turned it a couple of times to break it free. Plugged it back up and the machine cools down to 20 degrees in no time. I might have dodged a bullet on this one. Now I can not get the bottles to release, nor sure if it is the coin mechanism or not, will post a question under that topic. Thanks again for the advice.  Scott

I would replace the fan. Even though you freed it up, it will never be the same and will probably lock up again.
