What's the best way to insulate the box? Originally they used fiberglass on the sides and some kind of fiber mess on the bottom. I also need a new fan motor. Funtronics doesn't have any listed for this model.

I have some NOS Westinghouse split body motors - Is that what you are looking for?

The fan motor looks like a regular soda machine motor. I tried to turn the motor with my hand and it doesn't move much. It has to be shot.

How can you tell if it's a split body?

On the split body motors, the whole front half of the motor spins as opposed to general fan motors that have a shaft sticking out that spins the fan blade.
The other difference is that the split body motors mount with 2 screws on the side of the body and general fan motors usually mount with 3 screws on the rear.

This one has a bracket that mounts to the sides off the motor. So it's a split. The commpresor on this thing is a monster. I don't like the way the lid is mounted as it doesn't touch the gasket in the back. There must be a reason why they did this? Anybody ever reinsulate one of these? The sides won't be a problem but I guess i'll have to put a piece of ridgid insulation board on the bottom and shim it so the box fits tight. This thing is turning from an easy resto to a pain. I have to get the 2 metal pieces that hold up the box remade and the square removable screen on the side. After blasting there were several holes in the metal.
