I'm not sure how many people here subscribe to GameRoom Magazine, but saw some bad news on their website today - they are ceasing publication.
This is what their it says
"GameRoom Magazine is Ceasing Publication
I am saddened to have to let you know that, due to the deteriorating economic climate for print media, it is impossible for us to continue publishing GameRoom Magazine.
If you are a subscriber, you will be receiving a postcard in the next few days with a download code for a free copy of the GameRoom 20th Anniversary Collection (a $99 value!). The collection contains twenty years of GameRoom back issues in digital PDF format, perfect for reading on your computer or devices like the iPad and other e-Readers."

This stinks. I was a subscriber since issue #1.  down

You're right Brent. It does suck! But.......economics makes people sit back and kinda ponder. I've seen a lot of people come and go and I was one of them myself. Fortunately I'm back and my economy is not that great either but I'm able to with my work keep on striving and to tell ya the truth, striving harder than I did 10 or 15 years ago.

I saw that today too.. I've only been getting for about 3 years, but I've always looked forward to every issue. I am looking forward to the passcode to download the collection though to see what I missed over the years..

Sadly will be seeing more of this. 15 car related mags have shut down in the past 2 months. Some pubs are strong enough to offer content on the web but most are not and they are history.

It is sad,  quote from Ghost Busters (1984) Janine Melnitz: You're very handy, I can tell. I bet you like to read a lot, too.
Dr. Egon Spengler: Print is dead.
Janine Melnitz: Oh, that's very fascinating to me. I read a lot myself.

It is a sad state for sure, but you have to keep up with the times. With iPads, Kindles and the like - more and more people are going green! I wonder why they couldn't just make it an electronic subscription and eliminate the hardcopy issue. An in-store download from Barnes & Noble or something - lots of options, but costs are what they are. I will probably get the download - would be cool!

Electronic content is all fine and well and is the future.
I still like sitting at the table having a meal and reading over the paper or a mag.
