Those Who Stay Will be Champions!

« on: September 21, 2010, 09:12:58 pm »

I was at a political fundraiser this evening and I met a guy from Coca Cola who has been collecting for over 35 years.  We got talking machines and he mentioned that he has a pristine C-102.  He invited me to stop by and see the rest of his collection and perhaps a tour of the local bottling plant.  I will definitely be following up.  It will be interesting to see the machine in person and to tour the plant!

I will bet its a 51. I have had two people tell me that they had a 102 and they had walters book and it turns out its a 51. He didn't show a really good picture of the machine vending from two sides.

Nope.  It's a 102.  He even has the "whites only" and "blacks only stickers" although he has not put those on the machine.  I was pretty surprised when he said that was what he had but he described the machine perfectly.  Should get to see it in the next few weeks when I get up to Northern MI.

Unfortunately, he knows exactly what its worth.  He has worked for Coca Cola Enterprises for a long time and that is the jewel of his collection.  I'm just glad he offerred me the chance to come and see it!  He also offerred a tour of one of the bottling plants!

I will take plenty of pictures of the 102.

The guy lives in Northern MI and that is where the machine is.  The tour would likely be at the Detroit facility.
