Thought I would share one of my recent Gumball restoration projects. It's a Northwestern manufactured in 1949. Themed it to very Nice Dr. Pepper. Adding it to my collection.....I'm going to need more room.....

Nice job RetroMe! No offense, but I have never understood the concept of making a soda themed gumball machine. What does soda have to do with gumballs?
RetroMe - I noticed your avatar is a 1930's DP GFL porcelain sign. Do you own one? I bought one 40 or so years ago for $20 or so - still own it and love it!

Nice job.
Maybe he has a Dr Pepper room and by painting it in a Pepper theme it is a way to justify getting it?

I did not mean my comment in a negative way at all - it is a nice restoration and doesn't look at all like a slapstick job. I guess it is just the semi-purist in me. If you recall, I have a Standard Coin Changer in a DP theme, which is a fantasy piece. I can make a connection though between the coin changer and soda, but I just can't relate soda and gumballs. I see a lot of them (soda themed gumball machines), so maybe it is just me!

No, it's not just you. It looks nice, but I don't get the connection either.

I appreciate the feedback. The Dr. pepper theme was just something I thought would look original and was fun to do. Gumball machines in themselves are pretty boring so adding a collectable theme gives it a Wow-factor. Kids and wife love it.....Next restoration project is for me...Stoner Jr....

I love Dp stuff too - here is my DP Standard Coin Changer I mentioned earlier. Let's see some other pieces in your collection.

I think you can make it whatever you want. If you like it, I love it.
