I'm 99% sure I'm going to be going this fall, my first time in two years! We are going to make it a family trip and will possibly be going with some freinds of ours. My buddy owns a gas station/convienent store that is 50's themed. It's called Johnny Junxions.

My wife has family that actually lives in St. Charles which I didn't know about up untill about a year ago. We won't be staying with them and more than likely will be staying at the Pheasant Run Resort. I would stay at the Hilton across the street like Matt but the resort has more things for the family to do.

Is Portillos on for this year? A few years ago there were only a few of us that got together there so it will be nice to meet more of you, I'm really looking forward to it!

There are so many hotels in the area, and since I usually travel solo, I go with a budget motel, like super 8 , they get around 60 for the night,, the other places eat up too much of my "Fun" money... but they are all within a mile or two of the show..

I'm going this year to visit.. I hear its an incredible show. We are pushing to get into a new market and this is the place to meet people I hear.. Do you come home in between the show or stay the week? I haven't booked flights or anything yet.. still trying to decide if I will be there 1 day or 2...

Hey Leonard.. We do high pressure steam systems.. We have been doing some work lately for companies that manufacture tunnels for shrinking labels on machines.. We usually get called in when a local plumber tries to hook up equipment that he doesn't understand. We've modified machines, built machines and service many of these types of tunnels.. After seeing a bunch of these machines installed incorrectly, and talking with a few of the different manufacturers I want to walk through the show and see what its all about.

Guys, if you attend the show make sure you check out Augustino's, it's about 1 mile east on North Ave from Pheasant Run, they have the best subs.

Regarding shopping, I'm not sure there is much in St Charles,  there is probably better shopping near Schaumburg.

Man, I guess I didn't plan my work training right...I was just at the Q Center in St. Charles, right on the St. Charles country club.  They hold a one week course all year long, then I would have had the weekend off, and you can stay at the place on the company dime for the weekend.  I had no idea it was so close to there, we drove past the Pheasant Run Course on the way out of there!

I wonder if I could have shipped all my purchases back on the company dime as well...

I've been  to the Q center many times when with Accenture, do they still have the free Coke machines that you don't have to deposit money into?

Welp, it's official. The wife surprised me this weekend with news of reservations at the Pheasant Run Resort aorund the same time frame as the Coin-op Show! This will be the first time it's been a family affair.

This trip will be for myself, my wife and my 12 year-old daughter. My two young boys, 2 and 10 mos., are staying with friends of the family for the duration. We'll get up to St. Charles on Wednesday evening so that I can make it to the Kane County Show Thursday morning. Then we'll spend the afternoon around town or downtown Chicago.

I'm just really stoked that my wife did this without any prompting...... Ok maybe just a little bit, but I only mentioned it a few times in passing! biggrin

I'm pretty excited! It's been 2 years since I've been and I really miss the 0400 wake-up on Friday morning!! I also miss going to the Kane County Show and complaing about how bad it was afterwards!! biggrin

What else do I miss.........

Oh yeah, I really miss seeing the Northern European guys sporting pink Chicago Bears stocking caps, you can't beat a bulk buy!

I also miss plastic totes filled with hard to find parts for super-cheap and passing them up because "I can get them later"
