Vendorlator 10

I have a Vendorlator 10. I believe this machine was made around 1949. I have had it for a few years and now I would like to get it restored. Does anyone know of a reputable restorer in Arizona -- it is a big heavy machine and I would hate to have to ship it.

Looks like a variation of the 242 or 231... It precede these two models...?
Do you have the louvered panel that goes in front of the refrigeration compartment?
Would you allow us to utilize a couple of photos in the Soda Machines Sections?

As far as someone in AZ, I don't think there is any restorers...
I don't want to step out of bounds, but someone may be able to help...

The front door looks like a 242, that's for sure. But, that nomenclature plate says "10" in the model number spot.

Maybe a prototype?

Yes it preceeds the 242. I have done some patnent checking and it dates back to 1935. A stamped metal part in the coin changer say 1949.

I would be happy for you to use some pictures on the website.

At 565 lbs, I can say that I'm not into restoring it for you;however, I can help troubleshoot it. I can say right off the bat that the slug rejector is backwards. No way the coin mech is going to work with it in that position.
Does the machine cool? What do you know about it's overall condition (vending, cooling cycle, etc.)? Looks like the machine still has nice shiny paint - are there any major dents?

What makes you want to restore it as opposed to doing a refurbish/overhaul on it? If you do fully restore it, go into the process knowing that you most likely will not recoup your investment when you want to sell it.

I have an original printed manual for the VMC-242 - the picture on the front looks identical to the front of your machine.

From the description under the machine section - "Suprisingly, Vendorlator didn't supply this machine with casters; these had to be purchased seperately as optional equipment."  These didn't need dolly wheels, they need trailer wheels and a hitch. The damn thing holds almost 28 cases of soda... thats a small truck load right there..
