Those Who Stay Will be Champions!

« on: August 07, 2010, 05:23:50 pm »

My 16 year old son, Tim, will be entering his senior year in high school this year.  I am very proud of him for deciding to walk in the Breast Cancer 3-Day this year in Michigan.  This is a 60 mile walk over 3 days and you have to raise at least $2,300 to walk.  He has raised over $2,500 and will be walking with me starting next Friday. biggrin

But it gets even better!!!  Today he received an early acceptance letter to Michigan Technological University for the College of Engineering! biggrin biggrin biggrin

Had to play the proud Dad role!!! happydrinkers

Congrats Tim and your son!!
Always good to hear/read of kids not just sitting around playing computer games. My nephew just got word his senior year of college will be paid for with a job upon graduation after he did an internship this summer. 4.00 GPA in accounting.
Enjoy the time spent togther!!

Tim,

That is great news on both accounts ! ! !
Good luck to you both on the three day walk ! ! !
And luck isn't what earned your son's acceptance to MTU; that was hard work ! ! !
My hat is off to him for his desire to succeed ! ! !

My six cents,

Jim
