We just purchased a Vendo 63 Serial #7PF078638. Can anyone give me any information such as year. Also it looks like the bottom grill and the door where the coin mechanism is were both painted white. I'd like to know what the original colors should be. The side has a red wave logo and the same for the front lit logo. Thanks.

Here's some basic info on Vendo & serial no.s, I don't know if it will apply to yours however... 63 bottles Years Produced 1959 - 1966 Precools 12 bottles, Height 53", Width 27-1/2, Depth 21-1/2" Weight 304 lbs Serial Number Range Unknown VENDO SERIAL NUMBER - DATE ID
The Vendo 63 was produced by Vendo corporation from the late 1950's to the mid 1960's. This is one of the best looking square corner bottle machines from the 60's. It is also a great machines to own since it is a glass door slant shelf vendor. This means that it can vend just about any type, or brand, of bottle drinks. It came in various versions/styles such as the VR63, 63A, 63B, and 63C.
this info is from the Colamachines website
-The date the vendor was manufactured is contained in the last six digits on the first line of the serial plate. -This code indicates the "YY MM DD". EXAMPLE: 930108 Was manufactured on January 8, 1993 & appears to apply mostly to late models....
so if any one else can help, Please chip in your 2-cents worth :'>

Spoon-feeding Newbies since 2001... Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes. Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon! The Vendo V-83 is the '59 Edsel of the coke machine world. ;p Spray painting does NOT restore a compressor 11 is louder than 10... "Hope" is good, but it's not an action plan.

Jonnie,
Great looking box! Also just wanted to let you know what a great job you are doing in answering the questions folks have. Your knowledge is vast. Thanks for the plug on the refrigeration troubleshooting page. I don't get on as much as I would like. Just really super busy! Thanks again.

Thanks! it's been my winter project, & Here's a tip (ie:a mistake you don't want to make!)check your wire harnesses for shorts BEFORE you plug in that new find!, the previous owner, had ran a sheet-metal screw (should have been a machine screw)into the harness that goes into the rear of this machines bottle rack/vend solinoid ! ( the one that holds the rear of the metal can/shield that covers it )when I plugged it in, & put a coin mech on it to test the unit (it didn't have one when I bought it) ZZAPP! Fried-Wire City for the inside door harness, , I now add a FUSE holder into the door harness (you can see it on the jones connector box in the one photo) spliced into pin # 1's wire, something that Vendo overlooked! as 18 gauge wire has NO sense of humor when it comes to over current/shorts! so take your time in inspecting your machine, unless you like fried plastic spaghetti.
