help on wiring on lacrosse compressor

I am need of some help. I have a lacrosse machine. Got it for a great deal. Any way it was rewired with a free play switch in it. And they put in a 3 plug surge protecter and put plugs on it all. The problem with the machine is that they have the compressor pluged direct into power so it runs all the time. The thermo switch does work I can turn it to off and suft down the one fan. What I am in need of is some help on how to wire up the compressor back to the thermo switch so it will cycle on and off like it should.
