I grabbed both of these for $60. I believe they are a vendo 63 and a cavalier 22 but I am not certain. The vendo works great and looks to have been garage kept and not used. I'm new so any suggestions would be great. I am thinking about repainting the vendo to a more nostalgic style. Is this a good or bad idea?

Welcome to the board!!
You did well. Nothing wrong with changing the color scheme.

It's your machine, so it's your call.

I have the same V63 in my basement. Some here don't like the woodgrain, but I think it works well with the machine. If the paint is in good shape, I wouldn't mess with it.

The paint is a little rough on one side thats the only reason I am contemplating painting it. Does anyone know where I can find a chrome bezel for it? And I already changed the ballester and starter fuse and the light works fine, but the exact change light and bottle door light still do not work. Any suggestions?

Atyia-D,

Good score on those two machines.

I have a question for you. Your avatar that you are using is familiar. There was a member here, "Markito", who had the very same avatar picture of his son looking up at his Vendo 216 that he had restored/fixed up.

Are you any relation?

Welcome to the club...

With regard to your 63 I would search through the archive here to get an idea of what can be achieved with
a little imagination and a bit of hard work.

That machine could look really special. Not that its not looking special at the moment (I'm in the ban
woodgrain group).

If its a keeper then its worth the effort. If you intend to sell on then don't go overboard because
there is a ceiling with all soda machines...
