Just a note to say the machine restoration is coming along very nicely and thanks for everyones help. I have one more question.

My machine is missing the main door handle assembly.

I know I'll never find the parts to fix it back original. I was thinking of maybe changing it over to a vendo 6 case style with the keyed (latch). Does anyone know if this is possible? I would like to see some up close pics of the vendo latch and the inside catch. From what pictures I have seen on the internet the Du-144 has a handle similiar to a garage door handle. The inside catch is just a little bar/ loop that catches a leg off of the handle shaft. I may try to post a pic. Any thoughts on how to modify this?
