Well, I decided last week that I would replace the plastic "generic" open top coin catcher with what I thought would be the right part. Machine info: Cavalier cs-64c I went to a vendor who advertised a reproduction for the cs-64 which looks like what the manual shows as oem p/n B-4 2180 (coin box assembly.) It appears to slide over the coin drop. They also offer what is billed as an original coin catch, but does not look like the style in the manual. I chose to go with the reproduction which is not wide enough to slide on the coin drop and is to deep to close the door if it did. So...are there any available? Can someone point me in the right direction...? Thank you!

Have you contacted the vendor in the hopes of returning/obtaining the correct coin box...? I would start there before you venture on to another possible problem...

UPDATE: Well it turns out that the machine that I have is very early production. There are less than 200 made with the larger coin catch box, which means that it is not work someones time to reproduce it. My search continues for a good used original...and more brain cells are dying!

I'm confuesed, your title says "Cap-catcher" , but you keep calling it a "Coin-catcher"
so is it the bottle-cap catcher, or the coin-box???

Spoon-feeding Newbies since 2001... Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes. Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon! The Vendo V-83 is the '59 Edsel of the coke machine world. ;p Spray painting does NOT restore a compressor 11 is louder than 10... "Hope" is good, but it's not an action plan.

If I were you I would buy a different bracket for the coin box. I have several for Cavalier 64's. if you pay postage I will send you the bracket for the coin box for free if you want it.

I appreciate it, but in addition to being too narrow, it is also too deep so the door will not close! How...and I am just curious here, but how would the bracket change out?

Mine screws in with two screws. It is for the later D model. Yours being an earlier model it is different. If my memory is right I believe the mount is welded in. I attached some pictures. The first is of the coin box yours should have. It is from the earlier model Cs-64's which is the same for all of the C's. The reproduction coin box you have is for the much more common D model which was built from the mid 60's through late 70's maybe even early 80's. The D model is in the second picture. Finding another coin box may be quite hard. I would ask here in the swap meet area and classified area and you are welcome to use my picture of the correct coin box in your search. Maybe you could modify your box to fit???

SWEET! That helps....the vendor will accept the box back and there was no hassle..it's all good. I may try to have one made. For now I will look for the needle in the haystack and hope. And so the plastic catch is back in use! Bill

The Missing Coin Catcher slides on the plate at the bottom of the coin unit.
The plate that it slides on is 3 3/4 inches wide and 2 1/2 inches deep. Thanks everyone for your help!
