Hey all, Have a chance to buy about 150 bottles of coke in 8 oz bottles for about 20 cents each. I've got a call into the fellow but they are probably from the 90s or 2000s from what I can speculate . Would they be flat by now? Ok to drink? If so, I'm all over it like white on rice!!! Thanks, Mark / USS64K

Pop in glass will last for a few years, but I don't know if I would trust something more than a few years old. I have had stuff that I bought two or three years earlier taste fine, but I also know how it was stored.

Ok, that's good to know. They are more than two years old for sure and I don't know how they were stored. Could have been in an attic for all I know. I think I'll pass. THANKS!

I have some 8 oz. Cokes that I bought in 2008 and they taste okay. I have found that the diet seems to degrade quicker than the regular. I have them stored in a cool dark area of the basement. Tim

My basement would be just right to store soda if I got a good opportunity to buy in bulk.

General rules: 12 months, ambient temp., not in direct sunlight.
I say if there isn't fuzz floating on top and you pop it and it bubbles - sip and it tastes okay then why not? ...... just kidding.

To Winona?
Do you take your own bottles?
Will they still sell without bringing bottles?
I'd like to buy some this summer but have no bottles to take with me.

Yep, Winona is one of my stops. If you want 6.5 or 10 oz. bottles, you have to bring your own empties to trade in. A grocery store downtown has 8-packs of 16 oz. Coke and Diet Coke and they charge a 20 cents per bottle deposit. I got my bottles from antique stores, ebay, and even in the classified ads here.

Do you recall the name of that downtown grocery store in Winona that sells the coke and diet coke? I believe it is the actual Coca Cola plant. I think there is another bottling plant in Tennessee(??) that refills bottles.

Midtown Foods IGA 126 East 5th Street Winona There are probably a few other stores in town that sell the 16 oz. bottles, this is the only one that I have been to. Also, a number of restaurants in Winona serve Coke products in 10 oz. bottles, but of course, you are not allowed to take the bottles.
