 Hello,
Fairly new to the site and love it.   Is the VMC 81 Orange Crush machine that is listed on Ebay for 12K a legit machine?   Anyone have any information on these machines?  Thanks for your time.

Welcome to the site.. you can search VMC orange crush machine and find many threads discussing these Fantasy machines. To answer you question, No it's not real, There is a guy in Northern MN who makes them, he'll go to his Grave saying they are real, but he is the only guy in the world who thinks so.. They are very cool looking machine and should demand the price of a restored machine, but not 12k... but after looking at these photos, I still can't believe some of the shortcuts that where taken during restoration... makes me wonder what Non Visible shortcuts where taken? hmm..

If your budget allows, buy it, but know its a fantasy machine. I think it looks pretty cool, but not 12k cool.

Welcome to the site and hope you stick around, best bunch of guys/gals in the hobby on this site!

Not real at all. Sad story actually. I personally know 2 people who would have bought one if the seller would just come out and say that they are a fantasy machine. He lost 2 sales because he couldn't say the word, "yes."
Through another source I heard of a person going to his painters shop where no one was there. He saw these machines before they were primed or painted where he saw the welded doors there though I can't confirm that story.

 Either way they are fake.

I've seen several of them, I think it's mostly Jack's work and none of them are genuine.  If someone wants to buy it just to say it's real, then that's fine.  Jeff Walters and his associates got so mad at Jack for making Mission Orange, Dad's Root beer and Orange Crush machines but as long as you tell the original purchaser that it's not real, I guess that's ok. |

I personally would not buy one unless I had more money than I knew what to do with! A buyer would have a very hard time getting his 'investment' back! It basically would be like throwing $6000 in the trash. |

Now THAT is saying something!  Way to go, Jeff! It's pretty, but I feel bad for the coolers that got cut up to make these...they were rare in their own right. |

even though a fantasy Machine I do think they look kinda cool, but agree with Tom, would have to have some super extra cash lying around and plenty of room, but still would not pay more than what a nice restored 81D Coke goes for , as it ist just a fantasy machine... and should not demand higher prices, cause it is NOT Rare... it's Fantasy. |
