Comments: All of the National Refrigerators' model are built from yellow pine. The exterior lumber is V-edged flooring. Framing is contructed from 1 1/2" X 1/2" studs. Capping is made of 2 X 4's and is mortised and tenoned at the corners. The lids are two layers of 1" flooring laid across each other and screwed together.
The finish applied to the Sterling, Perfection}, and the Gem consists of dark oak stain, then shellac, and then waterproof spar varnish so water won't hurt the chest cooler. The M.C. model has no varish applied.
All of the chest coolers are lined with heavy galvanized iron. A wood floor-crate is provided with each cooler to protect the galvanized lining. Wooden partitions are provided with four-foot and larger sizes.
The M.C. Cooler has no insulation, and varnish is left off. The lids can be hinged for an additional $2.00 per lid. THe drain tube is located in the bottom.
