I made my first trip to Galco's Soda Pop Stop yesterday. If you love soda in glass bottles and you happen to be in the Los Angeles area this is the place to go. There is an incredible variety of soda flavors. Although the soda is a bit pricey (~$1.40/bottle average) I couldn't resist buying about fifteen different flavors. The owner, John, is very knowledgeable and he has some great stories.

If you are unable to visit his store, I found his website and a short documentary video.

I saw that shop on the History channel last year.
RED RIBBON CHERRY SUPREME was the winner in their taste test.  I see it's now over $2.00 a bottle.
Very cool video.  Better than the little snip it on the History channel.

Here's the list of flavors I purchased at Galco's:

Dr. Pepper - Original Formula

Manhattan Special: Vanilla Cream, Special Black Cherry, Orange Soda, Espresso Coffee, Sarsaparilla

Bana-Nina (Banana flavor)

Cheerwine

Jeff's Egg Cream - Chocolate, Orange Dream

Double Cola

Sweet Blossom Soda - Rose

Stewart's Key Lime

Moxie Original Elixir

Sioux City Sarsaparilla

Apple-Beer

NuGrape

Dad's Root Beer

So far I have tried the Stewart's Key Lime and the Dr. Pepper - Original Formula. The key lime was intensely sweet whereas the Dr. Pepper was great. The next flavors I plan on trying are the Manhattan Special Orange Soda, Espresso Coffee and Double Cola.

I try to keep my soda consumption down to one every couple of days, but I will post reviews of the different flavors as I try them.  drinking

I like Cheerwine and need to go get some more myself. I buy it at Wegman's.

I just went two weeks ago. It's a bit overwhelming to see that many glass bottled sodas in one place. I learned the cost they charge on their website is about 50cents higher per bottle than the cost at the store so if you live anywhere near the actual store a visit in person to stock up is cheaper. He also has started stocking craft beers and sake for those who want a punch.
