I saw the machine before, it was restored. It was a nice clean machine. He had an offer for over 10k and didn't accept it.

Its nice but I have to say that if I had the disposable income I would not spend it on a RC-81. Its a cool machine but I have to say that nothing other than a victor cooler grill is worth spending over 10K for. I don't mean to offend anyone but that is just my opinion. Especially since it looks like the the coin mech is just a nice original and not replated and not a change giving mech.

For some there is always the one machine they will spend any amount to get. For others it is the thrill of the chase for the machine and the deal that comes with it.
For some it is finding that rare machine in someone's barn or old store and getting it at an affordable price. And for some it is the trip to Barrett Jackson.
I am in the latter category. When one starts to spend that kind of cash I start thinking about land or a down payment on a really nice house.
Personally I think he should of taken the 10k offer when it came up. But you never know, someone out there may have the money as well as the desire to spend it on this rare machine.
I do wish I had an RC 81. And if I did, it wouldn't be for sale.

I agree with the RC Kid, The thrill of the chase is most of the fun, If I did win the lottery, sure I'd have fun, but how long.. if I wanted a machine, i'd just go buy it, put a bid in for 15k and see what happens? or contact the seller on something i wanted.. pretty soon i'd have this great collection and nothing else to hunt for... It would be fun I'm sure for a while. but there is something to be said about the "HUNT"!

I agree totally with the hunt. Back when I was in florida and then Tennessee I loved it when people would answer an ad and say they have an old pop machine in their barn and they don't know what it is. I would love driving over wondering what I was going to find. That was the biggest thrill for me.
