This is almost a perfect example of someone trying to get more than their machine is worth:

http://cgi.ebay.com/COCA-COLA-SODA-VENDING-MACHINE-RARE-ORIGINAL-WORKS_W0QQitemZ250402237275QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item250402237275&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2%7C65%3A3%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

Everything from "rare", and "I've seen others sell for..." to "I haven't tried the coin mech, but I am sure it works fine".

I saw that ad last night and I had to chuckle.  laugh Maybe if I change the coin mech setting and door sticker on my USS-8-64 from 35 cents to 15 cents it will also be worth $6,000 to $7,000 of course then it would not be an unrestored original.  oops Damn--what should I do.  Maybe I should watch more of the Antiques Road Show to get a better understanding of these matters!  He certainly pulled out all the stops!

I have the super rare, hard to find, once in a lifetime, can't get it anywhere else, unrestored but looks as good as new .12 cent version...maybe it's worth as much as his machine? Oo
