#1 Soda Jerk!

WWW
« on: March 17, 2010, 08:14:12 pm »

Hello everyone,

I'm beginning to compile ideas for next years' calendar, 2011.
With this said, I will be extending invitations for everyone to submit photos of their soda machines/coolers, syrup dispensers, or picnic coolers for use in the SMC Calendars.
At this time, I would only ask that Coca-Cola machines be exempt due to legal issues that I do not wish to explore!
Additionally, I would also like to know if anyone has various brochures or literature pertaining to soda machines/coolers, syrup dispensers, or picnic coolers...?

For the sake of obtaining quality images, I have included a few tips to aid in capturing good photos:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Take a picture from the front of the machine/cooler, dispenser but slightly to one side, just enough to see the side of the machine/cooler, dispenser.  Keeping in mind to get the complete machine/cooler, dispenser in the frame fully.
Try to take the photograph at a point approximately 3/4 of the height of the machine/cooler.  If your machine/cooler is about 5' tall, camera height should be around 3 1/2' - 4' from the same ground the machine/cooler is sitting on.

The only exception to this rule would be Chest Type Coolers and Syrup Dispenser in which case you would do as above except don't use 3/4 the height.  It would be better to take a picture from slightly above the Cooler to show the lid(s) as well.

And as always, don't rely on flash photography.  If the machine/cooler is in doors, try to illuminate the area as best as possible to assist the flash.  Many times pictures taken with the flash alone are very dark in some areas while very light in others.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lastly, file formats that can be uploaded are tiff, jpg, and psd. File size may not exceed 8 megabytes for each image upload. Please save/rename files in lowercase to include your last name without spaces prior to uploading! Thank You!
During the Submission Process, please be sure to include, full name, email address, and manufacturer/model in the description field of the form. Only provide the information on the "Document Tab" of the Submission Form.

And finally, I encourage any suggestions or discussion to make this project a benefit to everyone!

Thank you ! ! !

I wouldn't mind seeing a calendar full of very nice, all original, as found or discovered machines.

But the fact that there will be another soda machine calendar makes me happy, what ever the theme.

So, I tried to go to the download site and got this:  You are not Authorised to view this Resource.  And yes, I was logged in.

Try logging in to the soda-machines.com page, on the bottom left below the navigation bar.  The site and forum login are two separate things, I got the same error, then logged into smc.com.
