I just picked up this VF81 and I've only ever seen these 81's with Electric Mechs.. and with a Coin Door that protrudes from the front. This one is a flat front machine Like a V63 or V56, but has a mechanical Coin mech with Crank Handle.. I bought it for parts to complete my V81 ST Barqs machine... would be cool to convert that to crank handle too? thoughts?

Ive had a few of these, and a few V56s the same style. I think it would add alot to your Barqs machine if it was mechanical.

Yep I have had a few as well and parted them out. That is a normal large door coin mech. You should use it for your barqs machine. Is your Barqs an 81 or a 56? If its an 81 that cabinet is the same as well if it is in better condition than the one on your barqs machine. You could just replace the main door.

My Barqs is a VF81, Barqs logo it embossed, and it has the protruding Coin Door, (not flat front) , I'm putting the bottle stack and shelves into it. and the talk is to rig up the Mechanical mech into it.. would have to do some modifying to coin door to allow for the crank handle, and then on the inside liner to accomodate the crank handle and actuating arm plus redo the light bar to accomodate the actuating pin... so not sure how much I want to tear into it.. we'll see..

John,
Is that the original refrigeration system? It looks like it would interfere with the stack.
I think mechanical is the way to go - getting Joey's coin door might be less work.

Yes thats the original unit, out of the 10 or so 81 squaretops Ive cut up all had the lines on the left side, Its a shame its not a direct bolt in into a roundtop.

Joey,
Send me  a photo when you get a chance of the other coin door I was going to try to keep the original door and just repaint the cabinet? but I'm sure it'll be hard to match.. the original door is Really Very nice.. I'm suprised how nice it is, swore it was redone, but no sign of that unless done professionally? doubt it.

Tom, I thought about that interference as well, but before  I Stripped down the donor machine, I could see there was plenty clearance..
