Author Topic: Cavalier wont stop running, bad thermostat?  (Read 5344 times)

Hi guys, My css96 cools down pretty quickly, but wont shut off,even on the lowest setting, and freezes the beer in record time  happydrinkers

Is there something I can tweek or check, or what should I replace

My Vendo 39 did that, and it was due to a bad thermostat.  I would bet that is your likely culprit.  You can get new ones from Soda Jerk Works at the bottom of the page or Funtronics.

The thermostats job is to cut power to the compressor when the desired temperature is attained. If this is a new machine to you, make sure the compressor it's wired through the thermostat. (Turn it to the off position, the compressor should cut off) .Check where the probe is mounted. If it's a contact type, cycle the switch between on and off a few times, you might get lucky but safest bet, replace it.

Thanks guys. I checked the connections, ect, didnt change anything, but when I plugged it back in its now working properly. biggrin Maybe some water in a connection? I dont know. Guess the seals pretty tight, I unplugged it 2 days ago and the beer was still cold
