Those holes look like they were for some chrome trim. I'd see if you can find some chrome trim that will fit before you fill them. It would look good!

I would look for a bottle rack on ebay. I think they look good. I would be very careful buffing on that machine. The original paint is usually really thin. Use polishing compound (NOT rubbing compound) and gently rub it out by hand. I would practice on the back first. Also with the holes until you find a rack I would paint two small screws and put them in the holes and it will cover them up somewhat.

Yep - bottle rack - I didn't notice the holes at the bottom. I have two 36-bottle racks that came off V-39's. Two different mounts, but measure the holes and I'll see if one of mine matches your holes.

Yeah the holes at the bottom go all the way into the insulation and are rusted. I am just worried about removing the surface rust to make it shine and get rid of the rust. I will also look for bottle racks once its patched and shined up. So you think polishing compound will remove the rust?

I have used TR3 and a little muscle to get rid of the surface rust. You can still go through the paint if you are not careful, so don't be too rough on some of the stains.

They sell a cleanser called "ZUD". Make a paste of it with water and with your hands rub it on the surface. Rust will soon disappear. Use a Paste wax to bring back the shine.
