In addition to the broken latch spring, the slug rejector in my V-23 was missing.  My friend bent a sheet of brass into a chute, which works great in directing the coin into the retainer.  Now I need to deal with some rust on the galvanized basket.

Any suggestions?  I really don't want to pull the basket out of the machine.  Could I sand it in place and spray with a cold galvanizing paint?

Thanks in advance guys and gals.

I have used POR15 on liners with great success and it holds up well too. Since it is a self-leveling product, it fills in all the little pin holes nicely.
