Our town is also fireworks free, due to the dry mountains. On the early morning of friday june 13th, a couple  of drunk morons were playing with roman candles at 01:30. All was fun and games until they happened to burn the local "historical" train depot to the ground. The train depot was 99% finished on its year long effort to totally restore the building and grounds to be used for a railroad muesem. The depot was 104 years old and  believe it or not was scheduled to have the fire sprinkers tested and put on line later the same day. All in all about a millions bucks up in smoke!!!

That is a bad deal Terry, sad to hear. If they set up something for rebuild donatations please let me know.

Pat, Square top or a roundie?

No fireworks here either. Rightfully so, fire concerns. Possession of a smoke bomb or sparkler could be a $500 fine in Spokane, WA. Lighting same will get you another $600 ticket.

Hope all stayed safe!!

Well I had an interesting 4th. We went to the Navy base where they had a huge party and a great fireworks display. It was a lot of fun. Three navy ships docked in Singapore for the party. I felt like I was back home. It was weird not being a minority for the night. Happy independence day! drinking

Here is something else I bought a new 2008 Chevy excab 4x4 LT  June 30 (monday)
set my XM Stations and some local stations, and we drove it north up to Mackinaw City
like I had said listing to XM the whole way up and back, Well I was washing the truck
today and notice some one had stolen my regular antena off of my truck darn No local
stations  veryangry.

  So this is the score
1  Phone charger
2  Camera
3 no key for this V56
4 antena stolen off new truck

I think it can only go up from here  wow.

Pat,
My hubby's new truck had that happen too, but actually his came off it wasnt stolen. It was so loose it jiggled off and he hadnt noticed it being loose.

If dd (dear daughter) hadnt seen it fall when he left the driveway we would have never known.

I can understand a few in celebration but thats a bit over the top so un-called for.
They should have a bit of respect for other people sleeping. veryangry

Around here if it goes on too long one of the many law enforcement that live in the neighborhood will show up on the door step.  biggrin
