Coin mech HELP!

Hey guys and gals, I have a beatiful Vendo 63 with a metal coinco coin mech. It was working fine this winter and spring but now she does not give change and does not count coins properly. It will still vend but has no ryme or reason to the amount of money it takes. It also will not give correct change...Where do I start?

Depends on which model it is Chris, Vendo Vari-Price/ National-rejectors, or Coinco?

but basically, if the coinmech has an electronic control board, the voltage regulator(s) or filter capacitors may be damaged or dried up & putting too much A.C. line noise onto the D.C. side of the control board, then all hell breaks loose!

so it's important to know which 'mech we're dealing with.

I thought it would matter, its a coinco but I'll get the model number tonight and post tomorrow. I am not sure, but I don't think there is any electronics in it.

It's probably a Metal conversion mech, it looks like an old electro-mecanical fixed price mech, but it ( the conversion) repaced the stepping relay with a circut board simular to a S75/9800A series (5 to 75-cents)

Well...I lied! Its a National Rejectors. The decal is missing from the side to give me the exact model number. It has the red lever on the front to empty the change, one slot for nickels only. The backside has a removable panel for changing the amount.

Chris, If it's an all-metal NR coinmech, it's mostly electro-mechanical & quite a "piece of work" in it's own right ot work on, I could bench test it for you if you're in the neighborhood & I have a few parts units ( as you've seen!) you might be better off using it as a door stop. once the stepper relay goes wonkers on these mechs. all you can do is try to transplant on from another unit.

Hows about a nice MARS 6800 series that can be set from 5 cents up to $6.25 per vend? I just repaired 4 units. or a standard Coinco S75-9800A or B

Hey I may just have to send it over to ya. I'd really like to get this one fixed, it's a really nice looking piece.....but if it's a POS then I guess another one is all thats left. I would want an all metal one though, I like the sound!
