The original will last longer than the 8 to 10 years you will get from a modern compressor.

If you were restoring a  57 Chevy, would you replace the swap the original 283 with a new 6 banger to get better gas mileage?  Cool

Pat Pixley may be able to help with the stainless steel 1/2 round trim for the front edge of your slider, he had one fabricated for his Ideal / Orange Crush 55

That thing looks so awesome, you don't need any chrome!  happydrinkers

But I hear you, the stainless sometimes is scratched, dented or has holes drilled
for a hasp lock. It's easy enough to roll new stainless steel but attatching it is a problem.
It can be rolled and still have a lip to fold under the gasket, but the lower part has to be bonded to the machine, and if it is not flush it will snag when cleaning!  darn
No one that I know of has a replacement for that reason.
Hat's off to you for such an accurate painting of the logo......bubbles and all!  drinking

Thanks. The original painted logo was all there so I just taped and repainted each color and cleared over all of it. I painted the bubbles with a circle stencil. I was able to get a perfect match on the red and  save the original US PAT. I then taped up the 7up logo  and based the machine white, removed the tape and  re cleared the whole machine in three coats of ceramic clear. You can't see or feel any tape lines.  biggrin The original rolled stainless  I have is fine I just need the 1/2 round stick  that goes under it.

Hey Zadd look s real good so far .
I may be able to help you out , Did yours have a skinny stainless steel strip that held the
curve piece of stainless steel down ?  and if you like the brushed finish look ?

See attached photo of once was my Crush machine  I but a mark by that trim piece.
