First Off a Big THANK YOU, goes out to Brian (Seven181) for getting this machine up to me... he was coming up near me this weekend and was nice enough to haul it up from Kansas for me! Thank  you Very Much Brian... I'll be sending you something for your help!!

We've been talking about his machine on the site over the last few weeks and I was able to work a deal with the seller while it was on ebay if it didn't sell. We'll it didn't and here it sits in my garage. I haven't started tearing into it much yet as have too many other projects , but here are some photos of it. After really looking at it I am almost 100% sure the Blue painted Door is original.. at first thought that maybe repainted , but unless it was completely stripped down from all parts, chrome, every nut and screw, there are no overspray's, tape marks or other color indicators that usually give it away that it was a quick redo. ALSO the Barqs logo which is embossed appears to have orignial paint as it and the other letters are screen printed, painted, just like they would have done at a factory setting, there are no brush strokes like you often see on repainted embossed letters. So the orignial door is in really great condition. Obviously missing the insides which we'll gather in the coming months. (anyone got a 81 stack and shelves and coin mech for this, let me know...
Even the words VENDORLATOR on the bottom are embossed.  The only semi major issue is the coin door as they bolted on a can opener to the front, but luckily the holes are only in the door and not the bezel... so if it will be restored, easy fix, in the maintime I'll look for some delete plugs...I've never seen another embossed Barq's before, so I'm pretty happy with my new find!

I like it! Thanks for providing real pictures.

Someone should get a kick in the pants for installing a can-puncher on a
bottle machine. darn

I have an electric bottle stack I would trade for mechanical. Also have
shelves but you can get those from a variety of square corner machines,
Josh will know which ones.

Or, make some better shelves and create an 81 self-serve, until it gets
it's turn on your restoration schedule.

Are you going to attach the Barqs machine to your truck with the barbaque grill??  This would be nice for the November Chicagoland show.  I'll bring the popcorn.

Looks great!

I was a huge fan of this when it was listed
and on the original thread discussion, still
cannot believe that it didnt sell, anyway I
am just pleased someone on the board now
has it.
I am sure when you have time to restore it I
will be even more jealous when you post the
pix of it when completed,

I'm sure that's the real deal and you're staying in the Coke family!...
Take it back to original John is my vote... I'll help with creating the decals
or making masking to paint the DRINK and the other words on trace them for
me along with the ones on the 7up cooler and mail them to me. I'll scan and burn them
to a disk for you.
Nice score! And Great of Brian to haul her! Team work! happydrinkers

Will Vendo 56 squaretop shelves fit ? There was an all woodgrain one on Craigslist for $100. It isn't pictured in this ad, but I had one in my email.

56 shelves are too short. Only 81, 63 and 126 shelves will fit.

Josh,
Should I assume that Vendo 90 shelves would fit as well? as it 's just taller, or not? I have a lead on one locally that I could get cheap?

Thanks

Yes, if V63 shelves fit, then V-90 shelves will work too.

Nice find by the way!
