Did somebody change something? Last I checked it a few months ago, there were a bunch of us on it. I'll check it again and add my name if need be - it is a great tool.

OK...I thought you were referring to the Frappr Mar (sp?). I'm on it - no way to migrate the info from one to the other? When did the SMC GEO map get created? Never heard/read a word about it! Couldn't figure out how to add my name...enlighten me!

With regards to including members in the SMC Map, there was a long discussion which eventually led me to leave this out but I personally revisited for the sake of including places you all may have visited, run into along your travels or just somewhere interesting... There is a concern about having address information available for viewing and since this system requires address, city, state and zip, I chose to abandon utilizing it... The few names present are only those that previously allowed me to include them and further test things... I could not find a way to migrate users from Frappr... I currently have this so only admin can add members or places of interest. I'm open for discussion, ideas or questions, but remember, I'm limited on customizing this as this is a complex add-on to our system. I believe there was/is an option to automatically include every member in the database during registration... I personally do not wish things to work this way; I would prefer to screen who is included on the map. It may prove to be a good resource or it may fall to the wayside; you guys/gals decide if this is something worth revisiting...

I like the idea of a map showing where members/places of interest are located, but do not want address info available for all to see. Frappr Map works just fine for me.

I agree with Tom,.. I don't want my address out there just for everyone to see... Yeah I know it's probably not that hard to find... but no sense just listing it. I like the Frapper tool as it gives you the city, which in most practical cases is enough to know if someone is near you... and if you want to make contact with that person, it's easy enough to do that between those two parties. I'd like to see us all up on Frapper.. .I know many are ,but doubt most are?

Sorry Jim , Did not mean to rattle the cage , On the keeping it under control , maybe when the new member get up to a nickel or dime level or after they have two years in or those that would like to be added or maybe a combo. of all the above . As far as the address if it could be done just the city for those that dont want there address on there. Just a thought

Maybe we just keep the Frappr Map as a member location reference and use the SMC GEO map for places of interest with addresses, etc.

I dug deeper and manually removed the "address" field as being required! Only City, State & Zip are required for location.
Unfortunately, I will be out of town for the week and won't be able to work more until my return... If this works out, and members want to move forward, I can then create the list of members wishing to have a presence. I would rather keep this in house as opposed to Frappr just for simplicity and easy navigation to it from within SMC...
I'll try to check in over the next few days...
