I'd think that the fact that it's missing all the inner workings, might scare some bidders... and maybe this could have had at a decent price...
I most likely will not be bidding on this , but I have V56 Bottle stacks, and shelves, and maybe a coin mech that could work in it... if anyone needs one...

GOod luck

Boy that is different  the Barq's is embossed and we all
have seen those wonderful welding jobs  where they weld the
picnic cooler side in and try to pass it off oops,
but this does not look to bad , it's kinda cool Cool

mmm looks kinda yummy to GP here in England, fake or not.

yep its missing a lot of stuff & its an electric model, not crank

if its fake, but you like it, i suppose you have to weigh up how
much time, effort and cost it would be to make your own fake
front door versus the final bid price from the seller & take into
account how much the extra parts would cost to purchase,eg
bottle stack coin mech etc.

to me the front door of any soda machine is the most critical.

this looks great to me and if i had another machine of the same
model with all the bits i would be swapping the barqs door over
onto my other machine the same day and have a complete
barqs embossed 56 st is it?

if its real and original [ i have no idea on this i'll leave it to the
experienced guys on the board to advise on that], i'd also buy it
so long as its possible rarity value wouldnt take it out of my price
band

my threepenny bits worth

all the best GP

It looks just like the R C transitional machine Josh used to have, only with
Barqs letters welded in.  But from what machine did those embossed letters come
from?
Well compared with the letters on the Ideal 55 In Walters book, these could not
have been stamped from the same machine, also the logo was copied slightly different.

Instead of welding, I have seen embossing created by using layers of vinyl letters
stacked and then clearcoated, so this door may have been someones experiment ..........
anyway, it seems like a risky investment to me  down

Wow!.. Jeff Walters talks about the embossed Barq's 81s in his books.... He thinks
it may be possible that there are embossed RT out there due to this ( unlike the OC and Nesbitt's and Hires 81s) Said he has seen only a couple of these embossed ST first hand...
This is probably the real deal! very cool.... Have to watch this one.

I think it's a 81 looks too tall for a 56 by the looks of the bottle door.

Yes its an 81.

Glen, I still have that transitional RC 56. It is the only machine that I kept. It is waiting quietly for me at my Moms in Ohio. I painted it red and white to make a Coke machine for easier resale but when I moved a C55 fell over on it on the trailer so the paint was destroyed so it never got sold. I am glad I didn't sell it. I plan to strip it and paint it yellow and do it in a 50's theme RC. Its generic though.
