Twig's just started bottling the diet about a year or two ago.
I receive about 2-3 emails a year telling me that the New London Kist Company may not be closed. I came across someone in another forum stating this, so I got in contact with them. Here is part of what they said,
He seems to very
hard to get ahold of . we stopped by the plant on mon 2 11 08 in 10 below zero
weather to drop off his bottles when his son came outside to warm up his
truck he said his dad just got back from europe . anyways 3 minutes later
his dad opened the side door of the plant we brought the bottles in and had
a 45 minute conversation with him the only reasoon we did not talk longer was
that it was cold and we were afraid the pop would freeze and the bottles would
break . keith w says he has heard that he is out of business many times he
just laughed when I said it to him . As far as the state saying he is closed
i bet it is some kind of permit or license that he has let lapse more then
actually being closed down
They also gave me the names of a few liquor stores that carry the Kist flavors (it seems that they only distribute to liquor stores). The person also gave me the name of one liquor store that used to carry NL Kist, but dropped them and now carries Seymour. The owner's parents used to own the Little Chutes bottling plant. About half of my 10 oz. bottles from Seymour are from Little Chutes (Little Chutes is just outside of Appleton).
