Cola Button...

It's crazy how expensive these Coke buttons have gotten over the years. I can understand why it would take so long for you to finally get one.
I remember my first Coca Cola sign. It was a 4 foot by 4 foot square 70's sign I found in a barn when I was 18 years old. I polished it up and hung it up on my bedroom wall. I eventually picked up a Cavalier CS-96 to go along with it. Later in life I was able to pick up a couple of fairly decent Buttons, the best one came from Belize (Central America) of all places. I was on a training mission in this small former British Colony and the first thing I noticed in town was the abundance of these appearingly old coke signs. After a couple of weeks I finally talked the owner of a small store out of the 3' diameter sign placed over his door. It is a painted version, not porcilen, and it is newer. But it has the correct shape of the original signs from the early days, as opposed to the reproductions coke was putting out a few years back, and if I were to place it on a building here in the states, even many of you would be fooled by it, thinking it to be from the fifties.
Yeah, I remember when I could pick up a really cool sign for a mere few dollars or so. Bought a larger porcelin Coke sled for ten dollars here in NC, but that was eight years ago. The last one I found for sale, the gentleman was asking $350.00 for it. I had to pass. Well, that's my story. Wow! I must be getting old.

Pics? Oh, and congrats,  i know you've been  trying to land one for a while.

I think there was a cross bracket was mounted to the wall, then the button affixed to the bracket. My  Coke button  has the  same four holes., i'd love to know if any one is reproducing the bracket, not skilled enough to try  making my own.

In the interim, I  looped plastic coated wire through the top mounting holes, and  ahnging the button from  a nail.

This guy on eBay has a bracket for the Cola Cola button signs. It's only for the 16 inch size but at least you can see how it's made. It should be easy for anyone to build one for a larger button sign.

I guess it would be nice to have the original bracket but that's a lot of money when I just went into my garage found a piece of old wood and adapted it slightly,

No one would know the difference....

I was in a small town this morning picking up some stainless steel hardware for my V-39 and I noticed a Coke button in the window of a small antique store. The owner wanted $300.00 for an extremely rusty and rough looking sign.

Was that Klinger that order told hawkeye and the rest about Adams Ribs
the one it Toledo . And I do go there to get rib's once a year for two racks
and they are the best   .

 So when do we start that crate for Josh and done forget the rib's .

And here is a photo of the first botton I purchased. I got it iin the late 1980's and I paid $30.00 for it, even with all of the damage it has. I later traded an exceelent botton for the Vendo 110 pictured here. Not a very good deal. The botton was worth more then the Vendo 110 then and probably still worth more today.

I would much rather have the 110. The coin mech in that large door 110 is probably worth more than the button.
