hello all! just got a selectivend model-3a serial is hard to read but starts 96dp12a5 it is labeled as a dp machine. and has a large logo glass panel in top left corner and a long thin glass door on right for vending bottels. machine looks alright but does need some repairs. first is to rewire it. as it look like a rat was munching on most of the wiring or it just got brittle and fell apart. just need a basic wiring diagram that shows how the thermocoulpe and compressor and main cord go. the wiring to rest of machine like the lights and such looks good. compress could be bad just don't want to fry the thing because of old wires and broken wires. any help would be great thanks.

that showed wires just to compressor i go that done, followed the old wirers. but there is two wires comming out of a turn dial (off, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7) and two wires with a plug on it that seaming go to no where up behind the coil/ radiator thing, maybee a fan??? then there is the line voltage 110v from the cord to plug in. so how does it all go together?

You have an interior (Evaporator) fan that runs continuously - you have a hot live wire to the main door for lights, coin mech, etc - and the turn dial is your thermostat, which controls power to the compressor and condenser fan.
I'll try to find a basic wiring pic and add to the post.

ok looks like what i was thinking. line voltage hot and common wire direct to every thing but compressor wich uses the t/s as a switch. can't tell from sch. does it matter which is broken by t/s the hot or common. just a note. i am a journyman comercial electrican. just never messed with refrigeration much. and there is no schm. for this on my machine. just for the lights and rest. thanks

I'd buy a wiring harness ($30-$40) from one of the sponsors of this site. While you're at it, buy new fan motors (either locally or the sponsors have them too). The harnesses are already configured and usually come with wiring instructions. It is a breeze!

The Hot side is switched by the thermostat.
