Anyone have any luck restoring a bottle door medallion for an 81... I can get the fronts nice an polished up on a buffing wheel, but a few I've had to clean the paint off and they need repainting.. I found a pretty good match to the green for the 81a medallion, but not real good on getting the gold paint into the recessed letters.
anyone have any luck or some tips on how to do this?

       I've done a few.
Assuming all the old paint has been removed, spray several light coats of gold
paint on the inside of the medallion, making sure paint flows into each of the letters.
When dry, dampen a rag with some cleaning solvent and begin absorbing paint
off the backside by wiping in a circle, getting all those grooves clean. This will still
leave gold paint in the letters and a circle around the circumfrence.
Now spray the whole inside again, this time with green and you're done.......

THE MASTER HAS SPOKEN.. Thanks Glen, Great idea.. .I was thinking of trying someting like that today as well. I actually was able to lightly sandblast the insides clean with low pressure, and they came out real nice...
I'll take some photos of how they come out... Thanks
