Sorry, but it's a POP MACHINE!

This year I want to make a new backglass for my pinball machine.  I want to use the original as a template, redraw the art on another layer and have it printed on a piece of plastic (so I guess you could say I'm making a translite).

Does anyone know of a decent vector program that I can get for less than $100?  Adobe doesn't seem to make "watered-down" version of Illustrator like they do with Photoshop.  Even with my discount, Illustrator ends up being $200.  I looked at OpenOffice.org and they have a vector program called Draw.  Has anyone tried this before?

I've monkey'd around with Draw, but nothing serious. I love Open Office products though...

I've toyed with another vector drawing program, Inkscape. It works pretty good.
It's mainly a Linux program, but you should be able to get it for newer versions of
Windows.

I'm stuck with Win98, so I can only use it in Linux.  darn
