OK,
Guys, most of us would dream for this phone call... I got a hit off of one my Craigslists postings from a former well known restorer of Vending machines. He contacted me wanting to know if I would be interested in buying out his inventory.. This guy has been restoring for years (name kept private for now). I went to see his stuff yesterday and he has I believe 15 or maybe 18 vendo 81 A's, B's and some D's, 3-4 Vendo 39's, 3 VMC 27's and some other misc machines and tons of parts...  I could not take pictures as I was just looking and trying to think in my head... He knows what these are worth, so I'm not going to get the for super cheap, but I'm thinking a package deal.
My dilema is that if I don't buy them all, he will start selling them and flooding the market with Vendo 81's and such,,, which could hurt all of us who restore and resell? (maybe)... but I know he thinks he can get 1800-2200 for them... which I don't know if he will or not..
But I don't want to fork out over $30k for them either??
I was hopeing that if he'd do $1000 Each for them, maybe I could swing it? i know he said he wants $900 for the V 39's but I believe that's too much as well based on other postings I read...
SO I Need some help here guys.... THoughts, Interested in going in on this to buy some machines? I'd have to pull together an inventory list and check completeness of each machine, but he has enought parts lying around to finish all of the if they where not already complete...

The guy just wants out... he's been doing it for years... but has been pretty quiet for the past few...

 help darn biggrin

I would be intersted in an 81B or 81D if the price was right - I have shipping on top, so your $1000 sounds good!
I would even take the 81B (and possibly the 81D) without a coin mech if that would be a price break of sorts.
$900 for a V39 is too much!

He wants full market price for his stuff? I don't blame him, I
would too if they were mine! But he wants full price, and you have to
buy everything? I don't think so...
Start with negotating on just 1 or 2 of his best 81's so they
don't hit the market. Then let him try listing the rest, it won't be
easy until he realizes he must cut his prices in half!
Maybe you could work a consignment deal with him. You list
one or 2 machines on E-bay every week or so untill they are gone.

If i buy them they would be in my neck of the woods in my storage building zip code 54868.  I also would be able to take a few to Chicago in November if I buy them... so if that would work for some...

Still haven't closed the deal yet, should later this afternoon or this evening.

I may also be interested in an 81 or maybe 2.

I don't think the guy has a chance of getting full pop for these.  Unless he only tries to move 2-4 machine a year.  I see it all the time in the gas oil hobby.  When a load of good stuff comes along the prices seem to drop a good bit.
