things seem a little quiet on the site at the moment.
i like to see all your before and after pix of the soda machines you
collect and restore, some are incredulous, like, "that never started
out like that, surely!?!"
however, there is a broad spectrum of people on the site from soda
virgin to professional restorer, so i thought it might be good to see
before and after pix where it has been just hard manual graft with
no tools, just detergent/degreasant, parafin, chrome cleaner, wire
brush or old toothbrush, sandpaper wire wool etc that kind of help,
so we are all on an even keel maybe.
i'm in england with birdman so soda machines aren't exactly growing
on trees, so the item could be soda or coin operated or anything!!!
but where that simple but hard graft has made a major change to the
appearance or value of the item in a relative short time. i renovate old
60's slot machines as a hobby [and to be frank to help to pay the bills],
so ive added pix of a part slot machine i picked up for $30 and spent
over x6 hours one afternoon and early evening cleaning up. I still havn't
managed to source the missing parts so it still looks like that in storage!
ps i remember someone on the site buying a 7up white roundtop all brown
and rusty and with the sprinkle of a little magic dust, [maybe rustinhibitor!]
it changed from tramp girl to prom girl, gleaming white in a few hours, so
thats the kind of pix im looking for,
heres mine to get us started

I have been kinda silent around here lately. I've been really busy restoring a couple of old dirtbikes for the upcoming vintage/classic racing series. Will post before and after photo's when completed.

One heck of a restoration on the Vendo! ( a V-81?) or should that be "resurrection" nice!  the Pepsi slider & Coin changer look sweet too! was the "doner" for the Vendo a square-corner I take it? reminds me of swapping out a fender on a '57 chevy! |

Spoon-feeding Newbies since 2001...  Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes. Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon! The Vendo V-83 is the '59 Edsel of the coke machine world. ;p Spray painting does NOT restore a compressor 11 is louder than 10... "Hope" is good, but it's not an action plan. |

Joey, Pepsi Ideal 55 looks great and so does the Vendo Coin Changer. Eric If I remember right you did the restoration on that one right? What silver paint did you use on the inside of the changer really came out nice. Matt

Coin changer was done by me, silver paint is just rustoleom silver metallic, everything was blasted before hand. It turned out nice. The machine with the rusted out bottom was a Vendo 56 machine was cut in half and a square top bottom was installed.
