Well I'm a lucky duck today as I  found another unique machine only 1 mile from my house! It's a Vernors VFA564B model   PLUS the gent had Stoner Candy machine as well, yep, they followed me home!  it's appears to be original, missing 1 shelf, & the lightup sign face is cracked along the right edge, and the green "grill" you see on the bottom front panel is actually a decal (yellow underneath) & the biggest Vernors Gnome decal I've seen on a machine. it runs fine, but both machines a quite filthy inside, ( general dirt & grime) I'll snap a few more pictures once they are cleaned up a tad.

the Stoners I.D. tag says it was made by Vendo, I didn't know that Vendo made Stoners, I learned something new! this ones a little plain looking, but it should look good in a diffent color I think, not this auto-plant gray, ugh! I think it need a mirror too to dress it up. but it's in working condition, minus the coin-mech, though it's set on "free-play"

I'm going back tomorrow to take a closer look at a 60's Cavalier CSS96 & a cigarette machine

Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes.
Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon!
The Vendo V-83 is the '59 Edsel of the coke machine world. ;p

"Hope" is good, but it's not an action plan.

Nice find Johnie,
Someone added the vendo tag to the stoner. The mirror trim shows up on ebay every now and again.

No I don't think so. If you look closely it says Made for Vendo then under that it says by Stoner.

Years ago it was common practice for one vending manufacturer to make machines for another. National Vendors for example made Ice Cream Machines for Rowe.

the labels & instructions on the inside door (on the stoner) say it was made for Stoner by the Vendo corp. and that it's a "univendor"  so anybody got a coinmech for this puppy?  ':<img:'>

Stoner made by Vendo?  News to me too!

And in California I have never run across a Vernors machine,
and never even heard of Faygo soda, much less a machine for it!

If not for Johnie I still would never have seen these machines,
not even on e-bay.  Thanks JG

It appears Vendo purchased Stoner in the mid 1960's. They filed a law suite against the Stoner family in the early 70's as one of the family members went to work for rival Lectro-Vend.

Here is the trademark listing for Univendor: Funny that it says it was first used in commerce in 1989. Vendo must have forgotten about the previous incarnation of the Univendor.
