I was looking at the Vendo 39 that Alecigio has and was wondering...  What is the story with this model?  All red door with no "Ice Cold" just "Vendo" in the corner like the red and white machines.  Was this produced between the all red and two color machines?  Also, some have a different fan set up in the cabinet.  The machine on Ebay   # 130068503873 has a different set up?  I am about two days from owning a 39 and was wondering "what is the scoop"?

To my knowledge, there are only three versions of the V-39.

1st generation: Cabinet has only two vents on each side, cabinet door has embossed "Ice Cold" along the bottom as well as a line that extends under the ice cold and goes vertically on to the coin door. Original refrigeration has a vertical condensor that is located in the large rectangualr opening in the back of the cabinet.

2nd generation: Cabinet has multiple vents on each side, the cabinet door only has "Vendo" embossed in the lower RIGHT corner. No embossed line either. Refrigeration is generally typical of cross ventilation systems with condensor fans through the multiple vents on each side.

3rd generation: Cabinet has multiple vents on each side. Cabinet door has no embossing on the bottom of the door; neither does the coin door. Refrigeration is generally typical of cross ventilation systems with condensor fans through the multiple vents on each side.

Good points Jim! A few details I would add.
I have never seen a 2nd g V39 (or maybe just didn't pay enough attention to the pics).
I did not see a pic of the front of Alecigio's machine.
He said it is all red with no chrome trim, no rib and no "ice cold", "Vendo" embossed -
I would say it is the 2nd generation.
The 3rd generation has chrome trim separating the white/red and is embossed like the 2nd g.
The 3rd g also has a re-designed bottle drum that will accomodate the King Size (12 oz.) Coke bottles.
Not sure if the 2nd g has the same drum.
The re-designed drum has four levels to it
and the original drum has three with tabs to support the bottle.
Alecigio's drum might have four,
(he shows three, but it looks like the bottom plate he refers to is not pictured).
I guess it is kind of like the 81C (a leftover mix).

Tom.

I re-read my post and corrected the 2nd generation as the "Vendo" is located on the lower right, not the lower left that I stated. Silly me...
