Cavalier USS vending knobs / handles

Is there a trick to popping the caps off without removing the vending rack?  I'd like get all the old stickers off.

There are three screws that hold each tab and plastic piece on. They thread through the front of the dispenser rockers. If you just want to get the decals off may be easier to leave everything assembled. My stack is still apart so if you need any pics let me know. Easy to get the stack out but it is heavy. FYI each of the rockers have 2 sets of springs that would be tough to get back in place if the stack is not out of the unit.
